Overview
Eight days. Seven nights. The whole romantic arc of Morocco — for two.
This is the classic honeymoon: a private journey from Casablanca through the imperial cities, the Sahara, and the kasbah road, finishing in Marrakech — paced so it never feels rushed. Eight days is the sweet spot. It gives Fes two nights and its medieval riads, the desert a proper night with a private dinner in the dunes, and Marrakech two nights to end on, with a couples' hammam and long rooftop evenings. Your own vehicle and driver, just the two of you, honeymoon riads with gardens and pools, and the romantic touches arranged quietly along the way.
Day 1 begins in Casablanca with the Hassan II Mosque. Day 2 takes in Rabat, the calm seaside capital, on the way to the north. Day 3 brings the Roman ruins of Volubilis and imperial Meknes, then Fes for two nights — Day 4 is a guided day in the great medieval medina, the world's largest car-free old city, with a free romantic afternoon. Day 5 crosses the Middle Atlas and the Ziz Valley to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you ride camels into the sand at sunset, dine privately by candlelight, and sleep under the Milky Way. Day 6 is the desert sunrise and the beautiful kasbah road west — the Todra and Dades gorges, an overnight in the kasbah country. Day 7 crosses Aït Benhaddou and the High Atlas to Marrakech. Day 8 is a couples' hammam and the red city's palaces and souks before the trip ends — or before your coast extension begins.
Best for: honeymoon couples who want the full Morocco arc done romantically and unhurried, couples landing at Casablanca who want to finish in Marrakech, anyone who wants a private journey rather than a coach tour.
Not the right fit if: you want a single-resort, stay-put honeymoon (this is a touring trip — the romance is in the journey and the riads), you want two desert nights (add a night — just ask), or you want a beach honeymoon (add the coast — Essaouira or Taghazout — at the end). Spring and autumn are ideal.
Hakim founded Morocco Way in 2014 with one rule: every guide is born in the region they show you. On a honeymoon, that means a driver and guides who know how to give you space and let the journey be yours.
Day by Day
Salaam Aleikum, and congratulations. Welcome to Morocco.
Airport transfer included — your driver meets you at Casablanca-Mohammed V (CMN), just the two of you, and brings you into the city. If your arrival time allows, the day takes in the Hassan II Mosque — the vast oceanfront mosque with its 210m minaret, the only Moroccan religious monument open to non-Muslims, toured inside with a licensed guide (modest dress required). If you land late, the mosque moves to the morning.
The rest of the day is to arrive slowly and rest after the flight. Your honeymoon hotel in Casablanca is a comfortable property with a pool and spa; dinner tonight is a relaxed first meal (we recommend a contemporary Moroccan or seafront restaurant). A honeymoon welcome waits in your room if you've told us you're celebrating.
Night: honeymoon hotel in Casablanca (1 night, pool/spa, your room only). Dinner at your own choice; breakfast from Day 2.
Breakfast, then north to Rabat — the seaside capital, far calmer and greener than Casablanca or Marrakech, a lovely gentle second day. With your driver-guide you see the blue-and-white Kasbah of the Udayas above the river mouth (a romantic spot for a wander and a mint tea in the Andalusian garden), the Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Lunch in Rabat at your own choice.
In the afternoon, continue toward the north for the overnight — in or near the Meknes / Moulay Idriss / Volubilis area, positioning you for the Roman ruins and the drive to Fes in the morning. Dinner included at your accommodation.
Night: charming hotel or riad in the Meknes/Moulay Idriss area (1 night, your room only). Breakfast and dinner included; lunch at your own choice.
Breakfast, then the romantic-ruins morning. Volubilis — the best-preserved Roman city in Morocco, UNESCO-listed, with its temple, arch, and mosaic floors among the wildflowers (lovely in spring) — toured with a local guide. Then imperial Meknes and its great gate, Bab Mansour, before the short drive to Fes. Lunch near Volubilis or in hilltop Moulay Idriss at your own choice.
You reach Fes in the afternoon. Your accommodation is a beautiful riad in the Fes el-Bali medina — carved cedar, a fountain courtyard, a rooftop over the old city — the kind of place that makes a honeymoon feel like a fairytale. The evening is yours to settle in; a rooftop dinner over the medina is the romantic choice (we recommend and book).
Night: honeymoon riad in Fes el-Bali (1st of 2 nights, your room only). Breakfast included; lunch and dinner at your own choice.
The Fes day, at a honeymoon pace. Breakfast at the riad, then a private guided morning through Fes el-Bali — the world's largest car-free medieval medina — with a local guide: the tanneries, the speciality souks, the El-Attarine and Bou Inania madrasas, the Al-Qarawiyyin (the world's oldest existing university), and the woodwork museum, with a tea break. About 4 hours, unhurried.
The afternoon is free and romantic — more medina at your own pace, a specific artisan workshop, a rooftop lunch, a hammam (the Fes spas are excellent — a couples' option can be arranged), or simply the riad courtyard. Dinner at your own choice; the riad can lay on a private candlelit dinner in the courtyard, a lovely Fes honeymoon option (ask us).
Night: honeymoon riad in Fes el-Bali (2nd night). Breakfast included; lunch and dinner at your own choice (private riad dinner on request).
To the desert — the romantic heart of the trip. Breakfast, then south through the Middle Atlas: Ifrane the alpine town, the cedar forests and Barbary macaques near Azrou, and the long scenic descent through Midelt and the palm-filled Ziz Valley, with its panoramic viewpoint over thousands of date palms. Lunch on the way at your own choice.
You reach the edge of Erg Chebbi in the late afternoon, meet your camels (well cared-for, with a local handler), and ride into the great dunes as the sun drops and the sand turns gold and rose. (Prefer not to ride? A 4x4 takes you in, no extra charge.)
At your private desert camp — yours alone — the evening is the honeymoon highlight: a private candlelit dinner set in the dunes, just for the two of you, lanterns in the sand, a Berber feast, and then the sky — no light pollution for a hundred kilometres, the Milky Way overhead. Drumming by the fire if you want it, silence and stars if you don't. (Rose petals, a desert photographer, and the private dune dinner are all arranged if you tell us at booking.)
Night: private desert camp in Erg Chebbi (proper bed, private/en-suite tent; luxury-camp upgrade on request). Breakfast at the riad, private dinner in the dunes included; lunch on the road at your own choice.
A pre-dawn rise for the Erg Chebbi sunrise — the dunes shifting through pink and gold, just the two of you on the sand. Camel (or 4x4) back, breakfast at the dunes.
Then the beautiful kasbah road west: the Todra Gorge, where 300m walls close to a few metres apart with a river threading the gap (a short, easy walk together), and the Dades Valley — the "valley of a thousand kasbahs" — with its dramatic switchback gorge and viewpoint. Lunch on the way at your own choice.
You overnight in the Dades area at a kasbah-style hotel set in or above the gorge, with valley views — a peaceful, scenic night. Dinner included.
Night: kasbah-style hotel in the Dades Gorge area (1 night, your room only). Breakfast at the desert camp, dinner at the hotel included; lunch at your own choice.
The kasbah road and the High Atlas to Marrakech. Breakfast, then west along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs — the Skoura palmery, the Valley of the Roses, and Ouarzazate, the film city. Lunch on the way at your own choice.
The major stop is Aït Benhaddou — the fortified mud-brick ksar above the river, UNESCO-listed and unforgettable; you cross and climb it together. Then up and over the High Atlas by the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m), with the best mountain viewpoints, and down to Marrakech in the evening, to your honeymoon riad. Dinner at your own choice — a first romantic Marrakech table (we recommend and book).
Night: honeymoon riad or hotel in Marrakech (1st of 2 nights, garden/pool, your room only). Breakfast at the kasbah hotel included; lunch and dinner at your own choice.
The red city, to finish. Breakfast at the riad, then a private guided wander through the medina with a local guide — the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia minaret, the souks (time to choose something for your home together), and Djemaa el-Fna. About 3 hours, unhurried.
A couples' hammam is the perfect way to close the journey — steam, scrub, and an oil massage, leaving you glowing for the flight home (best in the late morning or before dinner; we book it). The rest of the day is free for a last lunch, a swim, or one more romantic Marrakech moment.
The trip ends when you're ready — drop-off at your hotel or Marrakech-Menara airport (RAK), airport transfer included, timed around your flight.
Or keep the honeymoon going: a beach finish at Essaouira or Taghazout, an Imlil mountain retreat, an Agafay desert night, or extra Marrakech nights — tell us at booking and we build it in.
Breakfast and couples' hammam included; lunch and dinner at your own choice. Mabrouk, and safe travels.

Frequently Asked
Morocco has one of the lowest crime rates in the world and, compared to the US and Europe, is considered a very safe destination. Moroccan people are known for their hospitality and they will make you feel very welcomed, for more information on the topic contact us and we’ll provide you with some personal single-traveller experiences.
No. You may wear whatever you feel comfortable in, we only have one exception on tours of the Mosque like Hassan II. To enter you would need to dress conservatively as you would in a church (no shorts, tanks tops, etc.).
As in any country you should use direction with your attire if you want to avoid unwanted attention.
US Dollars, Sterling and Euros are readily exchangeable. We recommend you take a mixture of cash and credit cards. Scottish bank notes and Australian dollar travellers cheques and cash are NOT normally accepted in Morocco.
With accurate information on the schedule of your arrival, our guide and our driver await you at the customs exit at the airport, with a sign with your name and first name. It’s always easy, this appointment. In case of concern, you can contact us by phone with our contact information noted in our emails. We are always at your disposal 24 hours a day
Yes, from the Casablanca airport pickup to the Marrakech drop-off. Your own vehicle and driver, your own rooms, private city guides for the two of you, and a desert camp booked for you alone — never a shared coach, never a pooled camp. The whole eight days is yours.
It's a touring honeymoon, and we pace it to stay romantic rather than busy. The heavier sightseeing is bookended by slow time: two nights in a Fes riad with a free romantic afternoon, a private dinner under the stars in the desert, two nights to finish in Marrakech with a couples' hammam, and long rooftop evenings throughout. The drive days are real but scenic, in a private vehicle just for the two of you, stopping whenever you like. If your dream is a single resort you never leave, this isn't that trip — but if you want to see the country together and still feel unhurried, eight days is the sweet spot. Add a coast or mountain finish if you want to end by staying put.
Built in: honeymoon riads with gardens and pools, two nights in a Fes medina riad, a private candlelit dinner in the dunes, a couples' hammam in Marrakech, and a welcome touch in your first room. On request: marquee/luxury riads, a luxury desert camp, private candlelit riad dinners in Fes and Marrakech, a desert photographer, a hot-air balloon over the Marrakech plain, a sidecar tour, rose petals, and luxury-spa upgrades. Tell us what would make it special and we arrange it quietly.
Yes — a lovely way to close a honeymoon by staying put after the touring. After Marrakech we can add two or three nights at Essaouira (the breezy walled Atlantic port, 3 hours from Marrakech) or Taghazout (the laid-back surf-and-sunset village), or a couple of nights at an Imlil mountain lodge in the High Atlas or an Agafay desert camp an hour from the city. Tell us at booking and we'll shape the ending around you.
Just a little. Morocco is warm, friendly, and very safe for couples, with a real romantic charm — but it's a Muslim country, so keep public displays of affection modest in public spaces (holding hands is fine; save the rest for your private riad and the dunes). Hotel and riad staff are used to honeymooners and will look after you. None of this gets in the way — it just helps you move through the country comfortably and respectfully.
